Faith and belief, faith and works

The word faith alone has little meaning until you name what it is you have faith IN.  What is it you have faith in?  God or your bank account?

We've seen that banks and world systems are corrupt and ever changing, cannot be trusted to build your foundation upon and are part of the kingdom of Mammon that Jesus warned about.

So if you have faith in God, how do you show it?

We can say we believe God will provide for us, but our actions tell the whole story.

Our words express what is in our heart, and our actions express what we truly believe in and who we are following.

In order to use our faith, we have to know scripture, we have to know exact promises and if they apply to us.

Dr. Jay Snell is an evangelist and teacher who has an immense amount of material for free on his site to read, that will teach you what God has promised us and why.

He teaches about the covenant made with Abraham and how it applies to us today.

Once you have a verse of scripture and know it applies to you, speak it out loud in your prayers, claiming it for yourself.  Then be patient and confident that God will perform what He has promised.

If you are uncertain about your salvation, tend to this first, so you'll KNOW you are part of the people God is speaking to.

Steps to salvation:

Recognize that you're a sinner, we all are. 

Repent of your sins and be determined to turn away from unrighteous things.

Ask Jesus to save you, to include you in the book of life and tell Him you accept the blood He shed for us as YOUR personal sacrifice too.

Confess Him before men.  (Tell someone that you believe Jesus is your Savior.)

Thank Him for your new life and begin to read the Bible.

Find a church to baptize you, or ask a believer friend to do it.  Some people feel it isn't valid unless the words actually say the name of Jesus:  "Based on [your name]'s confession of faith, I baptize him/her in the name of the Father, the son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost."

Now ask for the infilling of the Holy Ghost and the power to live life victoriously!
