10 Ways To Make The Tough Times Work For You |

If you’ve done everything in the article "14_ways" (found here), you’re already in better shape than you were before. Now find ways to benefit from the uncertainty of politics and finance. 1. People will need to sell off possessions cheaper, and stocks may be cheaper. You can find bargains now on things you need or want, if your bills are paid and you’ve put money aside for your safety net. 2. If you’ve been shouldering someone else’s burden for a while, or people are asking you to get involved with things that aren’t good for you; this is the perfect time to set some new rules. Simply say, I can’t afford it, or I’ve made a plan for myself to get out of the hole and I won’t be able to do what you’re asking. (If you’re someone who has been helped by someone else and are now hearing this – realize that God and you – the two of you – are all that was ever needed. Square up your shoulders, get rid of your anger and find new ways to accomplish what you need.) 3. Jobs and titles are in transition. There will be new opportunities created for you to work, to excel at what you love to do and to work out of your home. There will be more companies willing to pay you to do what you used to do in their office, from your home. It will mean a reorganization of your responsibilities and taxes, as you would most likely be a freelancer or contractor then, rather than directly an employee. Study up on the laws for the self employed and make it work for you. If you do work at home for one employer, chances are you can do work for more than one, and increase your income. 4. Use the vast amount of information available online to learn new skills, and be sure to include some survival and old fashioned ways of doing things, besides becoming proficient in computer software and understanding of your machine. 5. The only way you’re going to be able to do these things is to stop some of the constant chatter from the world. Turn off your communication devices for part of your day so that you can be productive. You cannot focus and accomplish your goals without quiet time to work. 6. There are ways to profit from politics even if you’re not remotely associated with government. There are grants available and will be new ones. There are ways to get paid for oiling the political machine that I am only just beginning to understand. To find out these ways, begin with the book “1000 ways to make money” by Rod Rednalab. Click the link here or type it into your browser for more info. http://lisatyler.howtomm.hop.clickbank.net Call your state government offices and ask for lists of booklets, brochures, government publications etc. that tell of available grants and loans. Take advantage of the slow time to look into a new career or fixing up your home. 7. Lastly network and make friends in the crowd you want to hang around with. Be very picky who you choose, because you will be judged with them, and grow more like them with association. At this time, when elections are being held and everyone is reaching out to make new friends, you can pop into a social circle you may not have been able to prior. 8. Be knowledgeable, polite, act and dress above your station (not necessarily richer, but more circumspectly) and be above reproach. In all your dealings be honest and out in the public light. I’m not suggesting that politicians are your best friend material, because you should be moving towards being more godly than worldly, but make use of what you can, and be friendly but firm with all men. 9. If you seek to please God first, you’ll have nothing to worry about in any crisis. God will be there to protect and rescue you and make good on His promises. 10. Let’s praise Him always, be constant and instant in prayer, and merciful to others, who may not be as wise or experienced as you. You ARE your brother’s keeper, and his downfall is your failure as well. Remember scripture says if you see a brother sinning and you don’t try to turn him from his evil ways, you will have to answer for him to God.
